Tips on Planning a Phantom of the Opera Masquerade Ball

Having a party for family and friends is always fun, but trying to think of a theme can be quite difficult. One very popular type of celebrations is a Phantom of the Opera masquerade Ball. This fabulous idea offers tons of options for decorations and costumes.

This subject will be wonderful for sparking everyone's imaginations. The old world Venetian costumes will give off an aura of both fantasy and history. The party is sure to be a big hit with all the guests and they will talk about the event for years.

Planning the Ball

Achieving the right effect for the evening is not that difficult. In fact, implementing the theme is easy providing that carefully planning and organization are both used. There are tons of things that can be done to create the perfect atmosphere. Take care to watch over the little details as those will be the things that make the affair so realistic.

The first item that needs some attention is the invitations. Find some that are phantom themed or choose one that has a feathered mask as would be used at a ball. Mardi gras or Halloween themed cards will work quite nicely.

There are many decorations that can fit into the affair. The important thing to remember is to keep everything in the same time period. Combining eras will not be as effective in creating a mood. Dark drapery and long tapered candles are all things that someone would expect to see. Be sure to have plenty of red silk roses and put up a few cobwebs.

Pick a costume that reflects the evening. Long Victorian ball gowns work quite nicely for the ladies. The men should dress as if they are going to an old world event and everyone should have some sort of mask covering their faces. Play classical music and remember to provide plenty of space for dancing.

There is a lot of fun to be had with a phantom of the opera masquerade ball. The guests will have fun dressing up according to the theme and everyone is likely to be intrigued by the entire evening. The affair will make memories that last forever.
