Venetian masks were popular in 15th century Italy as a way to hide one's identity from the public. Their use was banned for some time. The day the ban was lifted became known as the Carnival of Venice.
This black masculine mask is made from hard plastic and is about 6.5" tall and 6" wide. It has beautiful black sparkled designs painted right on it! It would be great to wear in any masquerade ball or as an additional piece to a lovely costume.
