21st Birthday Themes

What says "Happy 21st birthday!" like a huge party to honor the occasion. The choices of what you and your close friends can do on the day is never-ending but if you do resolve to have a gathering, you don't want to have the same old BBQ where you just fool around and have fun. Yes, you want to have a good time. Yes, you want to party. And yes, you want to do it in spectacular fashion. So why not have a theme party?

A masquerade ball lets everyone go all formal and dress up in their finest clothes that defines sophistication. Get your friends to invite their friends if you can cater for a large crowd which will add to the mystery brought on by the masks.

Vegas night is another party goer favorite that allows you to enjoy Vegas without in fact going there. This involves transforming your home into the hottest casino in town with everything from black jack tables, to guests dressed in jazzy clothes.

The 21 theme pays homage to your age and guests have to symbolize the number in one way or another in the way they dress. This could mean anything from having a shirt with the number printed on it, to wearing 21 scarves around one's neck.

A Decade theme like the '80s or '90s allows you to goof around and provides the perfect excuse to raid your parents' closet. From the hair to the clothes to the shoes to the music, everyone and everything at your party should live and breathe your theme decade.

You could also decide to hold your very own Oscars party complete with a red party and paparazzi. Your friends could come dressed up as famous celebrities and Awards can be given at the end of the night such as the best/worst dressed.

The Superhero theme allows you and your guests to relive your adolescence by dressing up as your favorite superhero. Or even better, you can ask everyone to create their own superhero!

For the backwards theme, everything is, you guessed it, backwards. From the decorations, saying hi and goodbye, walking, and even the clothes you decide to wear must be in line with the theme. You can even hold a contest to see who will be the last man/woman standing especially once the drinks start flowing.

Once you have decided on a theme don't forget to let everyone know what it is in the invitation. Nothing is worse than a theme party where no one follows the them. Above all, have a fun time it's your big evening.

Don't miss out on having a huge 21st birthday celebration. It only happens once, so think about choosing a cool 21st birthday theme.
