Halloween Recipes - Icky and Gross Halloween Party Food

Halloween food can be great fun when dishes like Fake Mucus are served. Whether you use these Halloween recipes for a party or as scary snacks for your family, these creepy dishes will provide a spooky menu and ghoulish Halloween party ideas.

Eerie Eyeballs: Hard boil 12 eggs. Cool and peel each one. Cut them in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and mix them with mayonnaise and mustard until your mixture is smooth. Scoop the mixture back into the white eggs. Now add one pimento stuffed green olive to the center of each egg for an eerie eyeball.

Fake Mucus: Heat one-half cup of water until it starts to boil then remove the water from the stove. Sprinkle in 3 packages of unflavored gelatin, let it sit for a few minutes, then stir it with a fork. Add light corn syrup until you have about 1 cup of thick liquid. Stir again with a fork until you have long strands of thick snot. Add water if you want your snot a little thinner.

Human Finger Food: Using 1 package of refrigerated biscuit dough, separate biscuits and roll each one out until good and flat. Take 5 hot dogs and cut each one of them in half. Lay each halved hot dog onto the center of a flattened biscuit and roll the dough around the hot dog. Placed the wrap hot dog on a cookie sheet. Using 10 sliced almonds, put an almond on each rolled up hot dog at the end so it looks like a finger nail. Now with a tooth pick draw knuckle lines and bake for 10 minutes (bake at the temperature listed on the biscuit dough package). Use ketchup as a bloody looking dip.

Little Witch's Broom: The little brooms are made with fruit roll ups and thin pretzel sticks. Cut off 2 inches lengthwise from the fruit roll up. Turn the fruit roll up so the short ends are on the sides. Now on one long end, cut little broom bristle strips almost to the top (leave about 1/4" uncut). Using a little water, wet the top long end of the fruit roll up and wrap that around the end of one of the pretzel sticks. You just made a witch's broom you can eat.

Gross Brains: Cut 2 very ripe avocados in half (lengthwise) and discard the pits. Scoop out the meat of the avocados into a large bowl, throwing the skins away. Mash the avocado meat until just a few lumps remain. Stir in 5 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese, 4 tablespoons of medium chunky salsa and 5 sprigs of chopped cilantro. Salt and pepper to taste. Gross, but so good!

Frog Guts: Start by melting 1 stick of margarine in a large pan. To the margarine, add 40 large marshmallows and cook over low heat, stir constantly until the margarine and the marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat. Now add 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 2 teaspoons of green food coloring and mix well. Next, add 5 cups each of corn flake cereal and M&M's and mix again. Mixture should be bright green. Using a tablespoon, drop the mixture on a sheet of wax paper and cool for awesome frog guts.

Berry Brains: Make a package of blueberry jello and chill until it's firm. Scoop a 16 ounce carton of small curd cottage cheese into a bowl. Drain a 16 ounce can of blueberries in syrup and save the syrup. Mix the blueberries into the cottage cheese and stir well. Add food coloring to turn the cottage cheese a grayish color. Serve by putting a few spoonfuls of jello on a plate, pour some the blueberry syrup on that, and a scoop of the cottage cheese and blueberry mixture on top of that.

Feet So Soft - Foot Scrub Recipes That Soften and Rejuvenate Your Feet

We often find our feet callous and cracked, dried out. A foot scrub is what our feet need so that the dead skin layer can be removed and the new one can emerge. Facial exfoliants and body scrubs have the same effect. They should be applied after you have taken a shower or have soaked your feet in a homemade foot soak. This way the skin is softened and easier to scrub off.

Homemade foot scrub recipes come with different ingredients. Each has to have an exfoliating agent: sea salt, brown sugar, Epsom salt, oatmeal. Each one also has to have a relaxing and soothing ingredient that calms the skin down and prevents any possible irritations.
Lets start with a simple scrub

Brown sugar foot scrub

Same as in the brown sugar body scrub, brown sugar helps slough off the dead skin cells.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground oats
2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon almond oil (in case you don't have almond oil, use olive oil, it is a great substitute).

Preparation

  • Before you start preparing this scrub, grind the oatmeal using a coffee grunder or food processor. It has to be of sandy consistency, flaky and light otherwise it will scratch the skin.

  • Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix until it resembles a paste

  • Use circular motion and massage gently.

  • Rinse off with warm water.

Salt foot scrub

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sea salt or Epsom salt

  • 1/2 cup of cold water

  • 2 drops of lavender essential oil

Preparation

  • Start off by gradually adding water to salt and lavender oil

  • As you are adding it, you want to make sure the mix starts looking like a paste. It has to be not too liquid and not too solid, it should be like soft though otherwise it will run between your fingers

  • Rub your feet and soles in circular motion

  • Rinse off with warm water

A friend told me about this foot care tip:

Use a regular foot cream or any greasy cream. Apply on your feet and wrap up in foil. Leave the foil on for a couple of hours. After you remove it, the best thing to do is foot massage after which you wipe off the excess cream.

COFFEE FOOT SCRUB

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of ground coffee (fresh is the best)

  • 3 tablespoons of corn meal (or ground oatmeal)

  • 3 tablespoons of sea salt or Epsom salt

  • 3 tablespoons of Olive or Almond oil

  • 2 drops of lavender oil (or peppermint if you don't need relaxing, but simply want some energy boost)

Preparation

  • Mix all the ingredients well

  • Scrub your feet in circular motion

  • Rinse off with warm water and pat dry

A perfect finish to such decadent pampering would be foot massage, preferably given to you by someone special ;)

I hope that some of these homemade foot scrubs intrigued you enough to try them and show off wonderfully pedicured feet :)

If you are ready to take your pampering to the next level, wonderful foot scrub recipes (did I mention cheap and quick to prepare?) are waiting. Make your own homemade foot care recipes now.

Home Made Detox Recipes For Cleansing

Detoxification refers to the process of removing toxic substances from the body. For most people, this means the residue of all of the undigested unhealthy foods that we spend so much time consuming. Benefits of using detox a recipe includes that you will both bring your body to a healthier level, and help you with weight loss.

A detox recipe may include a diversity of ingredients, depending on which area of your body you want to cleanse, as well as what your personal tastes and preferences are. The goal is to detoxify your body with healing foods that will revive your body from within, and increase your energy and overall well being.

Lemon Detox Diet Recipe

One of the easiest detox recipes to make is a lemon drink for replacement of all solid foods for a period of up to a week or even two. You could also simply substitute a meal or two each day with the lemon beverage if you prefer. This drink is created by adding two tablespoons of brown rice syrup along with two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to a glass full of water. You may add a dash of fresh grated ginger for taste and to help your digestive system function. Use in place of solid food whenever hunger strikes.

Fresh Fruit Detox Recipes

Fresh fruit like bananas, apples and strawberries can be used to whip up satisfying detox salads. You can use strawberries, lemon zest, extra soft tofu, and honey to make a delightful dessert.

The apple detox diet advises three days of eating only apples and applesauce, and drinking apple juice and cider. Fruit is a great way of cleansing the body and bringing wellness and vitality to your life.

Prior to having a new detox recipe, you should spend, at the minimum, seven days eating a light nutritional fare for cleansing your colon and readying your body for the more dynamic detox recipes. This includes avoiding junk foods, and maintaining the healthy diet for a full week. Look for detox recipes which include only wholesome ingredients like fresh fruits and vegetables, extra-virgin olive oil, unsalted nuts and seeds, and herbal teas.
